500th post and a contest!!

Wow, when I started this blog, I never dreamed I would make it to 500 posts!  For those of you who know me, you know I like to talk, sometimes about absolutely nothing.  I can't stand dead air,  I  have to have noise.  To celebrate this milestone on my blog I have decided to have a giveaway.  Yep, thats right something for FREE! (I am thinking along the lines of a Layer Cake or more, not sure which one yet)  I will announce the winner on  Friday September 30.  If you are not a follower, you need to become one,  that is how we will choose our winner!  Leave a post telling me what you do to kick off your Fall crafting time!!  Don't forget become a follower of the blog first.  Last but not least I want to tell all of you "Thank-you"  I couldn't have made it to 500 if you didn't read my silly posts and my over use of the exclamation point (Love that thing!!)   I love reading your comments and follow many of you in blogland.  So, Thank-you again!!  You can also follow us on Pinterest and Facebook.

    This year I am kicking off fall crafting season by making that cute rosette flower pillow you have in your store and I might also use rosettes to make a fall wreath for my door as well!

    Hi Nadine...I am already a follower;love your posts. I wait til after our community turkey supper here; it is Oct 1st this year; alway the weekend before our Thanksgiving holiday. That is like a line for me to start my fall things...whether it is crafts; which I have a number on the go; or getting my garden in for winter..or wood in...you know; the grind.....lol. I will start with cleaning the sewing room..haha!!!!

    I'm a follower too, and congrats on 500! I just finished a full fall clean-out and now have all my fat quarters in display boxes, supplies clipped up for easy access, and my waiting to-dos lined up on the cutting board. YAY! Excited to get started.

    For fall crafting season... I'm just making a bunch of stuff for The Sewing Summit. And then Christmas presents. Oh, and I have to figure out a costume for my daughter for Halloween.

    I have been a follower for some time now. My quilting style doesn't change when fall arrives, I just keep on doing what I was doing before. Even though I will do more quilting during fall and winter, and more piecing in the springtime and summer. Waaaaayyy too HOT and HUMID to do much quilting of the quilts during summertime!!!

    Fall officially starts when I attend the annual wine-making & bottling party at my friend's house. The party was yesterday--we broke 90 cases of grapes and prepared them for next year's get together and then started to fill over 800 bottles of wine that has been fermenting for the past year! It's an amazing day for friends and family to laugh and drink together, officially starting off the fall season!

    Now starts the sewing for Christmas Gifts. I am making several little things for kids and a few big quilts for my 2 boys that are BYU fans. BYU quilts coming their way!!!

    i clean out the closets in the house to prepare for cooler weather. donate clothes i simply wont wear and give my sisters' with younger kids clothing my children have grown out of...i follow your blog!

    Happy 500th! I kick off the fall with decorating first; that really gets me wanting to be in the craft room starting on Christmas projects. I'm finishing up a table runner for my sister's birthday; I want to make myself a purse...seems I make so many things for other people and I have so little of my own handcrafted things...maybe I should start a year of selfishness? naw, too many people relying on me for stuff....

    Yesterday was our first day that felt like Fall! Cloudy, cool and a touch of rain...awww, felt good after all that heat last week.

    I kick off the fall/winter nesting season by tilling the garden in, cutting down all the perennials, taking care of the leaves, and then loving my time to cook soup, sew, create, listen to books, and watch the storms come and go. I can hardly wait!!!!!

    Fall brings out the fabrics and I start my Christmas Crafting. This year its a baby quilt for my step-grandchild!

    I am working on finishing up a queen-size bed quilt for our bedroom we are remodeling. A log cabin barn raising pattern quilt in blues and tans with the traditional red center. Love this blog, always something fun to read or explore!

    I am a follower. I'd love more fabric.
    Right now I am altering Homecoming dresses. The quilt that is in the works will be the Tree of Life for my grand daughter's 8th birthday and baptism in June.
