ReplyDeleteMy only experience with grab bags is when I was little. I don't even remember where we would get them, but I remember every once in awhile we would be out running errands with my Mom and she would let us get a grab bag, they usually had candy and little toys in them and we thought they were so much fun.
A grab bag of trims and buttons would be so much fun!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE the grab bags. In fact, I was telling Shelby that as she made one up the other day. I definitely get fabric I wouldn't have purchased myself, and then of course fall in love with it! They're also great for scrappy projects, last Christmas I made a Nook holder for a co-worker with just fabric made from the grab bag! LOVE them!
ReplyDeleteI have never gotten a grab bag, but I love the idea. I love random fabric to do little projects. I hope I win. :)

ReplyDeleteI remember when Mom let us walk to the corner store all by ourselves, just us three kids. What a treat, quarters in hand, the feeling of freedom rushing through our veins! I always chose a grab bag for 50cents. It didn't really matter what candies were in it, I loved the freedom from having to choose which candies to buy, the anticipation as I paid for my little brown paper grab bag, and that huge smile on my face as I waited 'just til the corner' to open it up and dive in! Thanks for the great memory jog!
I've never got a grab bag, but it sounds like a lot of fun!

ReplyDeleteWhen we were little kids we would always go to the "sidewalk sale" in my Grandma's home town. One year, the drug store had grab bags, and my sister, my two cousins, and I all bought one. We opened them and found earrings, lipglosses, crayons, and all kinds of treasures... except for my one cousin. She got a home permanent kit and antacids. We thought it was hilarious- of course, she didn't!
